Turnberrie’s Community Centre welcomes Thornbury Foodbank
After being based at Thornbury Baptist Church since it started over ten years ago, Thornbury Foodbank is on the move. With the Church’s major refurbishment project due to start at the end of April, the Foodbank team was facing the challenge of finding suitable premises to operate from until the work is complete.
After considering several options which proved to be unworkable because of the location, available space and accessibility, Turnberrie’s came to the rescue. The new venue offers a lovely welcoming area big enough for Foodbank volunteers to continue to make up food parcels, store donations and most important of all, meet with clients.
There will be no change to the current Foodbank Friday afternoon opening times of 1.30pm – 4pm, with the first session in their new home being Friday May 3rd. It’s likely Foodbank will remain at Turnberrie’s until the end of the year.
The Trustees of Turnberrie’s are very happy to extend a warm welcome to Thornbury Foodbank, as it provides a valuable service to the community and look forward to helping them settle in to their new home.
The centre and its facilities are easily accessible to everyone and conveniently located with car parking opposite in Rock Street and disabled parking outside the building. As a non-profit making charity, Turnberrie’s are committed to reinvesting all funds back into the centre and the Thornbury community.
Thank you Turnberrie’s, from Thornbury Foodbank!
We will be at:
