Strong Foundations

Turnberrie's was officially opened to the public in May 2007 following a smooth and successful construction phase. The centre has truly been built for the Community with the community at its heart.

 

The Turnberrie's building is situated on the Old Market site in Thornbury, behind the town Police Station.

 

The site had been derelict for many years and with the buildings for both the Youth Centre and Siblands (Old Day Centre) rapidly deteriorating, South Gloucestershire Council took the decision to build a new community building to house both of these services and provide facilities for the whole community.

 

The cost of the new building is covered by the sale of the land at the former Youth Centre and Siblands sites at no cost to the tax payers.
